Eda was happiest when surrounded by her family, and she found great joy in watching her children and grandchildren grow.
Eda Carol Hill suddenly passed away on September 27, 2026 at the age of 67. She was born January 13, 1959, in Provo, Utah, to Stanley and Carol Tippetts. She was raised in Orem, Utah, and graduated from Orem High School in 1977 where she was involved with the Tigerettes Cheer team, played the clarinet, and made many lifelong friendships. She attended Snow College for two years before transferring to Utah State University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education, as well as a Master’s degree in Reading.
Eda married Allen Reed Hill, on October 8, 1987 after reconnecting at their 5-year high school reunion. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on November 28, 1988. Eda and Allen shared nearly 39 years of marriage and built a beautiful life together.
Eda and Allen had three children: Michael, Christopher, and KayLeigh. They raised their family in Orem where they lived for 31 years in the home they built together. Eda was happiest when surrounded by her family, and she found great joy in watching her children and grandchildren grow. She loved planning family vacations and created countless cherished memories, often taking the family to Disneyland and Tuacahn. Eda loved the excitement and wonder of those experiences, and she never stopped chasing the magic.
Eda devoted more than 33 years of her life to education in the Alpine School District. Teaching was more than a career for Eda—it was a way for her to make a difference in the lives of children, and she loved seeing them learn and grow. Eda loved to keep in touch with many of her students and remembered their names years down the road. Her children often joked with her that they couldn’t go anywhere without being stopped by a student she had taught.
Teaching was more than a career for Eda—it was a way for her to make a difference in the lives of children.
Outside of her career, Eda found happiness in the simple things. She loved reading, cooking, gardening, and canning. She was especially known for her cooking, and family and friends frequently asked her to share her recipes. Her food became one of the ways she expressed her love for the people around her, and many of her recipes and traditions will continue to be passed down through her family.
Eda was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many ways throughout her life. She especially loved serving in Primary, where she served as a member of the presidency, a teacher, and as an Activity Days leader. She also served faithfully on various Relief Society committees. Through her service, Eda shared her love for the Savior and her genuine love for those around her.
Eda is survived by her husband, Allen Reed Hill; her children, Michael (Monica), Christopher (Crystal), and KayLeigh (Dallin); and her grandchildren, Oliver, Ashlyn, Ellie, Cassidy, Hudson, Evie, and Oakley, with another grandchild to arrive soon. She is also survived by her siblings; Allan (Jeannie) Tippetts; Boyd (Pauline) Tippetts, Denice (Paul) Porter, Floyd (Holly) Tippetts, and her brother-in-laws Phillip Llewellen, Larry (Kay) Hill, and Jay Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Carol Tippetts; her parents-in-law, Burrows and Minnie Hill; her sister, Charlotte Llewellen; and her brother-in-law, Ray Hill.

Eda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, and friend. She will be remembered for her love of family, her dedication to children, her generous spirit, her talents in the kitchen and garden, and the many ways she quietly, and loudly, cared for the people around her. Her family will miss her deeply and will forever be grateful for the life, love, and memories she gave them.
