Elena Córdova, age 73, returned home to her loving Heavenly Father and was reunited with her husband and son on Thursday, April 3, 2025. Our beloved Ma'nena, was a caring and affectionate mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Outside of her immediate family she took others in as her own and was affectionately called "Mamá Nena" by many.

She had a green thumb and could make even the most particular plant thrive. Her home was always filled with blossoms, greenery, good food, and music. She was a planner and relished in orchestrating family gatherings. Holidays were brighter when they were spent in her home. She took great pleasure in being a homemaker and maintaining a place where the Spirit of the Lord could reside.

Elena dedicated numerous years of her life to serving in different capacities within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This included years of service in the Primary, Young Women's organization, Relief Society, and a service mission alongside her husband. Her most cherished time was spent serving as a temple ordinance worker in the Manhattan, New York and Provo, Utah temples.

Elena is survived by, her loving daughter Martha Gutierrez, siblings: Ofelia Menjivar, Luis Russell, Teresa Veliz, Ana Menjivar, and Evelyn Cáceres; grandchildren: Alexsa Córdova Stevenson, Emily Lino, Kenneth Joseph Córdova, and Benjamin Alexander Gutierrez, great-grandsons Morgan Stevenson, Leandro Lino, and Chandler Stevenson.

She will be remembered as a bringer of light, humor, and love. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 at 11 am in the LDS chapel located at 888 South Freedom Boulevard Provo, UT 84601. Viewings will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00pm at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home located at 85 East 300 South Provo, UT 84606 and from 9:30 - 10:30am on April 18th, 2025 prior to the funeral service at the church building.

The burial will take place at the Provo City Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
