Jean was primarily a stay at home mother to her three boys, but she also worked in many areas including cosmetology, sewing/quilting, upholstery and at Utah State Hospital as a dietitian as well as a Temple worker at the Mount Timpanogos Temple.
She was a bit of an adrenalne junkie as she really enjoyed racing cars. Started with street racing and some circle track(stock car),4X4 mud racing and loved jeeping in Moab with her Jeep rubicon. But especially loved drag racing with family at Rocky Mountain raceway and driving her sand rail at the sand dunes. She was a fan of NASCAR and attended races at various tracks. She was a good cook and always helping others. at a young age she became quite the seamstress she created amazing quilts sewing and piecing them together for her family.
With husband Melvin Cook they were members of the good Sam's Club and traveled and enjoyed four wheeling together.
She enjoyed her winters in Yuma and her summers in Montana with Robert -Bob Nelsen

She cherished her membership (in the chruch) and had a strong testimony of our Savior and the restored gospel. Her testimony in the gospel was always firmly planted which gave her strength through the many challenges she faced in her life.
