Obituary

Erma Darley Hill, 89, of Provo passed away February 24th, 2018. Erma was born April 5th, 1928 in Mount Pleasant, Utah to Archibald Eckersell Darley and LaVerne Hansen Darley. She married Iran Roy Hill on December 23rd, 1960 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Erma graduated from Davis High School (Kaysville) in 1946, from the University of Utah in 1950 with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education, and from the Brigham Young University in 1959 with a Master Degree in Education. Erma taught special education reading for 29 years in the Provo and Orem school districts before retiring. Erma served 3 missions for the LDS church: the Southwest Indian mission from 1952-1954, the Germanic area building mission (with Roy) from 1962-1965, and the Family History mission from 1997-1998 in Salt Lake City. Erma was always active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings. Erma is survived by her sister, Donna Lucille Darley (Bedford, MA), and her two sons: Archie Kurt Hill (Las Vegas, NV), and Roy Eugene Hill (Portland OR). She is also survived by 2 grandsons: Dustin and Kory Hill, as well as 5 great-grandchildren: Kory Lee, Dylan, Sophia, Jason and Marla. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3th, 2018 at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home: 85 East 300 South, Provo, Utah. Friends and family may call from 11:30-12:45 prior to the service. Burial will be in the Provo Cemetery under the direction of Walker Sanderson. Special thanks to the staff of Cove Point and Hearts for Hospice for their loving care of Erma.
