Obituary

Frank Curtis Wynder, 92, of Provo, Utah graduated peacefully from this mortal existence on Sunday August 5 th , 2018. Curtis was born on July 27 th , 1926 to Viola Bevans and William Winslow Wynder in Cardston Alberta, Canada. He was the youngest of 9 children and was preceded in death by one sister and 7 brothers. Curtis grew up on a ranch in Hill Spring and taught piano lessons for many years in the Cardston area. He played several instruments in a dance band and made music an important part of his life. Curtis served a mission to France from 1948-1951. Curtis married J. NaVee Harris on June 24 th 1953 in the Cardston Alberta temple. They enjoyed 65 wonderful years of marriage. Curtis attended BYU and received a BA in Music Education and a master's degree in Family Life Education. He taught classes at BYU and spent 33 years in the Dean of Students' Office in the Wilkinson Center. Curtis served as the mission president to the Canada Montreal Mission from 1981-1984. After serving as mission president, Curtis was employed by BYU and loaned to the MTC. He was in charge of all BYU services to the MTC and worked there for several years. He loved missionary work and played the piano at the MTC for 12 years. Curtis served as a Bishop on three separate occasions and always looked for ways to bless and serve his neighbors. Curtis is survived by his wife NaVee, their 3 children: Michelle; Dru (Stephanie); and Darin; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Curtis celebrated his 92 nd birthday with his family a week before his passing and was grateful he enjoyed one more birthday. A special thanks to Dr. Tom Dickinson, Bishop Derek Miner and the staff at Alpine Ridge and Orchard Park for their devoted service in last 25 days of Curtis' life.
