He had a great love for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and took great pride in serving in many different callings throughout his life.

Gary Dean Price, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, left this life on September 25, 2026 in his Bluffdale home after a long battle with leukemia. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sidney Kay Price, and his children: sons David Ammon, Aaron Michael, and Steven James; and daughters Jennifer Lynn and Stacy Lee. He also has a grandson, Connor David, granddaughter Ashley Elizabeth, and great granddaughter, Eleanor Rose.

Gary was born in Pueblo Colorado on January 3, 1955, to Paul Lee Price and Betty Ruth Lyman. He was preceded in death by his half-sister Pamela, and half-brother Buddy, and is survived by his half-brother Dan. Gary spent most of his early life in Craig, Colorado, where he attended elementary through high school. He met his wife Sidney in 1972, when he was a senior and she was a sophomore in high school. They were married one week after Sidney’s graduation, on June 13, 1975. Soon after, the couple moved to Orem, Utah, to attend Brigham Young University, where they would settle and build their family.

Gary loved the mountains and the deep history of the state of Utah, and found joy in many interests and hobbies. He loved space exploration and had a great passion for model rockets, which he flew recreationally throughout his whole life. He also enjoyed driving radio-controlled cars with his sons. He had a great love for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and took great pride in serving in many different callings throughout his life. A lifelong learner, Gary diligently studied his scriptures and the words of the modern prophets, and soaked up as much knowledge as he could. He also loved his country, was passionate about supporting our troops and veterans, and was known to wear his American flag lapel pin on all possible occasions.

Gary had an amazing knack for connecting with others, constantly forming and nurturing friendships, and maintained a rich correspondence over his life. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and pets, especially his beloved companion dog Annabelle, who brought him much joy and comfort as he battled the illness which would finally claim his life. His impact reached far, and he will be missed by both friends and family. We hope he is resting well, free from the pain that clouded his final years.

An evening viewing for friends and family will be held Tuesday, October 6, from 6-8 pm, at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home,646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah 84097.

A second viewing will be held from 9-9:30am, preceding the funeral services, which will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Bluffdale Independence chapel, 1304 West Cinch Way, Bluffdale, Utah 84065. Interment will be at the Spanish Fork Utah Cemetery, 420 East 400 South, Spanish Fork, Utah 84660.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the Wounded Warrior Project. Giving blood to the Utah blood bank would also be greatly appreciated.
