Gilbert Earl Cook died peacefully on July 21, 2023, at the age of 90 with loving family by his side.

A devoted husband and father, a talented educator, and an accomplished humanitarian, Gilbert is survived by his 7 children Joleen, Julie (Brian) Shields, Mike Cook, Tammy Decker, Brad (Jen) Cook, Cory (Angie) Cook, Ben (Michelle) Cook, and 21 grandchildren.  Loved and respected by those who knew him, he was dedicated to family, left a legacy of service, and possessed a deep devotion to God and his religious community.  He died two days after his 72nd wedding anniversary to his deceased wife, Jerry Bradley Cook, who he called "my everything, the love of my life."

A celebration of his life will begin with a viewing at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah, Thursday, July 27, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and prior services, Friday, July 28, 2023, from 8:30 – 9:30 am at Stonewood 2nd Ward, 665 South 200 West, Orem, Utah.  Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am with a live broadcast beginning at 10:00 am on www.walkersanderson.com (http://www.walkersanderson.com/) where condolences may be shared with the family.  Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
