IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glen Ronald
Womack
July 2, 1932 – June 22, 2024
Ronald Glen Womack returned to his Father in Heaven on June 22, 2024. He was born on July 2, 1932, to Henry Edgar Womack and Thelma Dorothy Prigmore in Independence UT. He was educated in Roosevelt UT and graduated in 1950 from Alterra High School where he was on both the football team and the basketball team.
Glen served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 in post war Germany, where he was the radio man for his unit. While serving there, he was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was honorably discharged from the Army and returned home to study at Brigham Young University and majored in US History.
He met his sweetheart, Margaret Colleen Davis and they were married on September 8, 1956. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo UT Temple on February 28, 1976. They had three children, Michelle Colleen Reding, Stephen Glen Womack and Melissa (Doug) Sitton. They have 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
Glen was a hard worker, having grown up on a farm and all the work that goes on there. After he was married, he had many jobs, working at Batley Plumbing, Walkers, Warburton's as a cement truck driver and later Ashrock as the dispatcher, Westrock and finally at Salt Lake Sand and Gravel. He retired in 1998. He served in many positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including as Ward Clerk for 11 years and was a faithful Home Teacher.
Dad was a jokester. He loved a good joke and played many on those around him. They were done in the spirit of fun and not meanness. He loved to laugh and have a good time. Each summer, the family would go camping, fishing, boating and sometimes hunting. His joy was his family, he worked hard so the family could play hard. His favorite time of year was the holiday season. He loved Christmas. He was an avid BYU Fan and loved to go to the basketball games and watch football on TV.
He was an amazing carpenter and since he grew up on a farm, he could do most anything including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and always had an abundant garden with plenty of vegetables and flowers that flourished in the front yard, his motto was "measure twice, cutonce". If he set his mind to something, you knew it would be done and done very well. He could and did fix anything that needed fixing.
He taught his children and grandchildren the value of hard work and putting in an honest day's work. Growing up, we always had everything we needed.
He was preceded in death by his sweetheart, Colleen. Brothers, Harold, Gordon, Stanley, and Dale Womack, and 2 sisters, Dorothy McClellan and Margaret Birchell.
Glen will be laid to rest in the Orem City cemetery next to his sweetheart, Colleen on June 28, 2024. There will be a viewing beginning at 9:30 am, at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home at 646 E 800 N, in Orem UT and a graveside service at the Orem City Cemetery at approximately 11 am.
We will miss you dad and look forward to being with you again. Rest in Peace. We love you. Until we meet again.
