Obituary

Gloria Jean Reinhart McLeod Jolley passed away peacefully in her home on August 5, 2024 in Lindon, Utah.

Gloria was born May 5, 1947 to Christian and Roberta Reinhart. She was their second child of four children. They grew up on a farm in McClusky, North Dakota. She often talked about great memories she had living on the farm. Gloria often recalled her being a tomboy as a child and always wanting to be outside and she would beg her mother that she would clean the barn or anything if she just didn't have to stay in the house and do house cleaning chores. Her cousins lived across the hill from them and she recalls having a wonderful childhood with all of her family.

Gloria went to school in McCluskey graduating high school in 1964 with her best friend Loretta, who she kept in touch with most of her life. Gloria met Robert Lee McLeod shortly after high school. They married and had 2 children, Leslie Wayne McLeod (1967) and Penelope Lee McLeod (1969). Gloria and Robert divorced in 1980.

Gloria went on to college at University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. She graduated with her nursing degree in 1984. Being a nurse was Gloria's greatest joy in life. But with no jobs in North Dakota, she put applications across the U.S. and that is where she found St. George, Utah and moved there in 1985. Soon after she met the love of her life, Kent Leon Jolley.

Soon after, Gloria moved to Provo, Utah and married Kent. Gloria and Kent spent the rest of their lives together. They bought their forever home in Lindon, Utah. On November 24, 2017, they were sealed at the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple. They became a part of Lindon 10th Ward where they made lifelong friends.

Gloria loved the outdoors, she and Kent spent much of their extra time camping, hiking, cross-country skiing and riding the ATV's with their many friends. They also went on cruises or just traveling around the country.

Gloria continued being a nurse the rest of her working years. After moving to Utah Valley, Gloria became a Director of Nurses at Crossland's Health Care Center. One of her greatest pride was helping Crossland's have 4 years of no deficiencies on state or federal levels. After many years of being on call with a pager on her hip she decided to resign as the director and went to work for Jordan Valley Hospital where she worked until she retired. Being a nurse, was Gloria's greatest passion. Although she dabbled with the idea of being a police woman while growing up, she kew nursing was her calling and never regretted it.

Gloria is preceded in death by her husband Kent Leon Jolley, her brother Gary Reinhart, niece Corrine Burghart and parents Christian and Roberta Reinhart. She is survived by her children, Les (Katy) McLeod and daughter Penelope McLeod and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
