Our beautiful mother Gloria Dean Clark Ostler peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Gloria was born November 28, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Albert Clark and Vera Butler Clark. She was the oldest of 7 children, and a Mother to the 2 younger brothers as her Mom passed early in life with Rheumatic heart. She lived most her early years in California, following the crops. She started picking crops at a young age, and really disliked picking hops and cotton as they made her fingers bleed. After graduating from Woodland Hills High School her family returned to Utah. She worked many jobs including the secretarial, laundromat, and typewriting. After moving back to Utah she went to work at Geneva Steel as a mail delivery lady. This is where she met her sweetheart Merlin Ray Ostler. They married on May 7, 1953 in the Manti Temple. She served as a waitress for many years, owning the Tip Topper, working for several chinese restaurants and-her favorite-the Pebble Beach Lodge where she met some famous people. Everyone who met Gloria became her friend instantly as she was a kind and genuine people person. Later she went to work helping her husband as an Office Manager of Ray's Auto Clinic. There they worked together for many years. Gloria loved people, and they loved her back. She was a kind, loving, and selfless. She truly endured her trials with grace and dignity. She is survived by Sam (Debbie) Ostler, Vicki (Gregg) Lybbert, Ramon (Ellen) Ostler, Tony Ostler, 11 grand-children, and 26 great-grand children, and 3 brothers, Steve (Jeanette) Clark, Blaine (Katherine) Clark and Alan (Teresa) Clark. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sharlene Prescott, her 2 brothers Earl Clark and Kenneth Clark, 2 grand children, and 1 great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held on Monday September 25 at 11:00 am at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home on 600 East 800 North, Orem, UT 84057. Friends may call for viewing Sunday September 24 from 6-8 pm, or 1 hour prior to the funeral service. Intermittent will follow at the Orem City Cemetery.
