Grant Richard Russell, the son of Grant and Tessa Russell, husband of Jaclyn Russell and father of Maisie Russell, passed away in his home on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. Richard was the second of seven siblings: Melissa DeMartini (Bryan), Maren Allen (Taison), Jeffrey Russell, Kjerstie Russell, Michael Russell and Mitchell Russell. He was an uncle to Makai and Malik Allen; Donovan, Victoria, Miliana and Dominic DeMartini; and Jesse and Jeremy Spencer. He loved them all dearly and could often be found taking pictures of them at family functions. In second grade Richard began delivering newspapers around Grandview Hill and since that time his solid work ethic has always been a strong characteristic as has his kind and generous heart. After graduating from Provo High and completing three years at Westminster College, he chose to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called to the Mexico Guadalajara Mission. Ankle surgery did require him to come home for a time but he resumed and completed his service in the Texas McAllen Mission. After his mission Richard decided to finish his degree at Utah Valley University. Credits don't transfer well from Westminster, however he persevered, taking classes and working in the pharmacies of IHC and Mountain Star until he graduated with his Bachelors in Biology. Richard's personal interests include camping, hiking, motorcycles, photography, media, electronics, woodworking and tools for every sort of task. It always brought a smile to our faces when someone was trying to complete a job and Richard had whatever was needed to finish it. Over the years he generously assisted parents and siblings and others with many projects. Another long desired goal was reached in March of 2013 when he and Jaclyn Spencer were sealed in the St. George Utah Temple. They worked hard to buy a house, and to manage all the additional tasks that come with that. In November of 2016 they welcomed Maisie Belle Russell to their family. Richard thought she was the most beautiful baby he'd ever seen and took every opportunity to capture many precious moments on his camera. Her birth provided new direction and purpose for all his labors and an even deeper sense of duty and urgency to do all he could for his family. Richard: son, brother, husband, dad, uncle, cousin, nephew, grandson, colleague, friend, someone we all love dearly. We look forward to the time when we can be with you once again. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 24, 2018, 4:30 p.m., at the Grandview 13th Ward, 1260 West 1150 North Provo, UT. Family and friends may visit before the service from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Parowan Cemetery. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.walkersanderson.com
