Hal Enevold Anderson of Spanish Fork passed away on Monday December 27th, 2021 at the age of 85. He was the 4th of 8 children born to John Verl Anderson and Gem Rose Francis Anderson of Lake Shore, Utah on November 13th, 1936. He married Setta Kay Christianson on February 2nd, 1961 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in February of this year.
He graduated from Spanish Fork High School and joined the US Army in 1958 and served his country in the Army and Utah National Guard for the next several years. He was a member of the Operating Engineers for 58 years and worked 35 years as a heavy equipment operator. Hal farmed alongside his dad and his brothers from the time he was a young boy and he loved Saturdays at the farm with his brothers, nephews and ma's home cooking. He maintained a close bond with his brothers, cousins and nephews throughout his life. He planted large gardens and tended to his plants with great care and always had a hearty harvest. In recent years, he learned to nurture his desert plants with the same care. The highlight of his life was spending time spoiling his grandchildren.
Hal is survived by his wife, Setta Kay; his children, Joel Hal Anderson, Christine Vest, Warren Kay Anderson, Holli (Mike) Pritchett, and Jill (Kelly) Mower. His siblings Geneal (Paul R.) Dart, Joe (Barbara) Anderson and Jim (Diane) Anderson. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, John V. Anderson and Rosie Anderson and his siblings, Darrell (Karen) Anderson, Gary (Linda) Anderson, Christy (Paul) Cherrington, and Tim (Jayne) Anderson.
The family is very grateful for the care and support received by Symbii Home Health and Hospice and want to give a special thanks to Kori and Cyndi.
A family service will be held Monday January 3rd, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Walker Funeral Home, 85 E. 300 S. Provo, Utah. Friends and family may visit from 12:00 to 12:45. Burial will be at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or perform a random act of kindness in Hal's name.
