Henny Marie (Pedersen) Gautier-Kitchen, of Provo, Utah, returned to her Father in Heaven on 16 April 2020, shortly before her 85th birthday, after a long illness.
Henny was born on 30 May 1935 in Aarhus, Denmark. As a young child, she remembered the hardships of growing up under the German occupation of Denmark during World War II. Seeing much suffering in her young life, Henny made it her life's ambition to become a nurse to aid others.
Soon after joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and finishing her education, she and her adoptive parents, Borge and Karen Moller immigrated to the Salt Lake Valley in 1959. Struggling to earn a living, Henny worked night shifts in several different hospitals and nursing homes to provide for a growing family. After much study and effort, she received her United States Citizenship in 1970. Henny worked as a Public Health Nurse for Lemhi County in Salmon, Idaho, for many years before retiring in 2000. From 2002 to 2003, Henny served a mission for her Church in Nova Scotia, Canada, where she made many lasting friendships.
In 2006, she met her husband, Larry Kitchen, at the Orem Senior Friendship Center. Henny is survived by her husband, Larry Kitchen, children Lars Sorensen, Dean Jensen, Karen-Ann Rhoads, and Lisa Traasdahl, and her twin sister Nanna Solberg, and younger sister Sue Peters, along with 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Henny will be greatly missed and was loved by all who knew her. A graveside service will be held on 22 April in the Provo City Cemetery.
