Obituary

On November 19, 2021, Howard Lance McIntosh departed this life in the grandest fashion following a medical emergency in St. George, Utah. We find comfort knowing he was doing what he loved most: mountain biking with people he loved.

Lance was born on December 1, 1959 in Oakley, Idaho to Howard and Alta McIntosh. His entrance to this world was as much of a surprise as his exit with a twelve-year gap between him and his sister. He was loved and adored by his parents. Following a mission in South Africa, Lance attended Brigham Young University where he met his beautiful wife, Brenda Pelo, and married her in April 1986 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Their marriage was blessed with one son, four daughters, and two angel babies who, we are sure, are loving spending time with their father.

For the past 18 years, Lance served alongside priesthood leaders throughout the world in the family history department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was loved and appreciated by all who knew him and the feelings were most definitely returned. He enjoyed the simplicities in life: going to football games, boating with his family, playing with his grandchildren, and, of course, riding his bike. Lance was a dedicated friend, a devoted son and brother, and a loving husband and father. He was Grandpa to Jerek, Pompa to Casen and Connor, and Papa to Bowie and Sadie. His absence is greatly felt by many.

Lance was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Alta McIntosh, by his brother, Warren, and sister, Wendy, and twin daughters, Madison and Maggie.

Lance was survived by his wife, Brenda; son, Trevor McIntosh (Aileen); daughters, Haley Stanley (Daryn), Chelsea McIntosh, Abby McIntosh, and Lauren McIntosh; grandchildren, Jerek, Casen, Connor, Bowie, and Sadie; and in-laws, Dale and Renae Pelo and their children.
