Jack Zirbes was reunited with his wife Dolores and many other beloved family members on July 11, 2020. He was born on August 1, 1932 in Lacrosse, Wisconsin along with his twin sister Jean to loving parents Raymond F. Zirbes and Pauline Marie Peikert Zirbes. He attended schools in Lacrosse and after graduating from Aquinas High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for two years during the Korean War. Right before leaving for basic training Jack met Dolores Zirbes, a cute little Mormon girl from Springville, Utah. Following his service in the Army Jack and Dolores were married in Springville on February 2, 1955. Dad investigated the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was converted and baptized. He had a strong testimony of the gospel and served his entire life in many church callings including Bishop. Jack had a very successful career as a civil engineer and worked for many years as Provo City Engineer. He also worked in Reseda, CA, Onalaska, Wis., West Valley City, UT., and had his own business, Zirbes Engineering. Dad was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Marie, sisters Patricia Zirbes and twin Jean Robertson, brother James, wife Dolores, daughter Sharon, and granddaughter Cara. He is survived by his brother Joseph, children: Debra Zirbes, Jeffrey Zirbes, Nancy Dudley, and Thomas Zirbes, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Dad was a kind and loving man who touched many lives for good. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him. He has completed his earthly mission in an exemplary manner, has passed the tests of mortality and endured faithfully to the end. He has returned home well prepared to stand in the presence of his Heavenly Father and his Savior, Jesus Christ.
