Burrell

James Edward Burrell passed away surrounded by loving family at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo,
Utah on September 23, 2025.
He was born to George William and Ethel (Smith) Burrell in Pocatello, Idaho on March 27, 1941
He spent time in his youth in The United States Army. He was Honorably Discharged.
He was married to Ann Richards. They had a beautiful daughter together. They were later
divorced.
He then met the love of his life and married Linda Remy. They have spent over 60 years
together. They had three wonderful sons.
Throughout the years he had many professions. Many of which included a Taxi Cab Driver, a Bus
Driver, a Groundskeeper, and being a self-employed Locksmith. He retained his locksmith
abilities and started working for Cole National Corporation in National City, California. As his
children were getting older, he realized he wanted a better location to raise his family. He put in
for a transfer with Cole National to Provo, Utah, after which he retired from after a total of 36
years.
Many remember him as the manager of the Key Shop located outside of Sears (and later R.C.
Willey) in downtown Provo. He loved that job and received quite a reputation for the best place
to get duplicate keys. He loved it when notable celebrities came to see him such as the
Osmond's, Robert Redford, Lavelle Edwards and many more.
He had many hobbies that he enjoyed. Some of which were camping, cooking for his family,
being a handyman, as well as camping with his friends in The Squaw Peak Good Sam's for over
40 years. He also enjoyed camping with friends going South in the 5th wheel trailer for Winter
months after Christmas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings, and his Son, Ricky Lee Burrell.
He is survived by his wife Linda (Remy) Burrell, Daughter; Tana Felsman, Sons; Randy Burrell and
David Burrell, His Brother; George William (Jeanne) Burrell Jr., as well as many Grandchildren,
Great Grandchildren and 2nd Great Grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. at the Pioneer 1St Ward Chapel, 376 North 700 West in Provo on Thursday, October 2, 2025. There will be a viewing prior to the service from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.
Interment will be at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State, Provo, Utah
