James William Taylor

1952-2025

James William Taylor, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025 in his home at the age of 72. James was born May 9, 1952, in Tula Rosa, New Mexico to Annie Laurie Crossley Taylor and Joseph Onzel Taylor. He was one of eleven children, and spent his childhood in Provo, Utah, graduating from Provo High School, lettering in Track and Field. He served a 2 year full-time LDS mission in Seoul, Korea.

He attended Utah Technical College in Provo, earning his degree in Electrical Science. While there, a professor introduced him to Rita Peterson. They married on March 7, 1974, in the Provo, Utah LDS Temple. They had four children; Jeremy and Jason (identical

twins), Jared, and Ashley. James and Rita loved raising their children together, spending time outdoors, and hosting elaborate parties. His children remember him as "the most fun dad ever".

James started his technical career working at Data General repairing computers. In 1996, his career path transitioned to sales working as an account manager for Dynix Library Systems. He continued in sales at For Every Body and completed his career at Rimports. James served extensively in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Young Men's and Scouting programs.

After 25 years of marriage, James and Rita divorced. James married Tiffany Allan on October 2, 1999, in Kauai, Hawaii. They cherished spending time with his grandchildren. Christmas was their favorite holiday and they were known for their meticulous Christmas wrapping and decorations. James and Tiffany loved service. They both served with their HOA community for years and were happily married until her recent passing on August 18, 2024.

James is survived by three children: Jason (Sid) Taylor, Jared (Aubrey) Taylor, and Ashley Neilsen; his sisters, Evelyn Harrelson and Sondra Liston; and his brother, Bryant Taylor. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren, and is preceded in death by his parents; Annie

Laurie Crossley Taylor Parker Rolfson and Joseph Onzel Taylor; Son, Jeremy Taylor; wife, Tiffany Taylor; Siblings; Anna Renee Baker, Julie Wyona Kilgore, Sherrie Zona Somirs, Ed Taylor, Arlen Taylor, Jerry Taylor, and Vaughn Taylor.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the Taylor family for an open house on Sunday, January 26 from 6-8 pm at Walker Sanderson Mortuary in Orem. 646 East 800 North, Orem, UT 84097. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 27 at 11:00 am, at the

Sharon Park Stake Center, 85 East 700 North, Orem Ut 84057. Interment will be in Springville Evergreen Cemetery, 1997 South 400 East, Springville, UT 84663.
