Jane Carol Balken Griffin was born September 27, 1925 in Rothsay, Minnesota. She was borne to Emma and Julius Balken; the 10 th of 14 children. She left Minnesota at age 18 and moved to Seattle, Washington meeting Robert Barney Griffin; the love of her life. They married May 4 th 1944, and had six children David Robert, Dennis Michael, Linda Carol, Teresa Ann, Cynthia Jeanne and Colleen Marie. They were baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints October 1956. Bob and Jane served in the Seattle Temple for 19 years, and three years in the Boise temple which Jane stated was a highlight of her life. Jane loved sharing stories of growing up on the farm, and her travels with Bob throughout the world. Jane passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, March 8, 2019 at the age of 93. She is by survived by one brother Loren Balken, all 6 of her children, 14 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Jane's memorial service will be on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 11:00 am. The services will be held at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home located 646 East 800 North Orem, Utah 84097.
