It is with great sadness that we announce that Jay Lyn McIff passed away unexpectedly on June, 8th 2024 at the age of 56 years old. Jay was born on 08/16/1967 in Sandy, UT to William and Naomi McIff and was the baby of 10 children.

Jay loved to plan yearly family trips, and go fishing and camping with his family. Jay was funny, sarcastic, loved to embarrass his family, shock his wife and believed it's the family you choose that counts. Jay could fix anything, loved making beer and mead and was a manly man except when it came to his family, who he was all heart and hugs with. Jay and Martha had dreamed of growing old together, getting a motorhome and traveling when they retired.

Jay selected a career in glass installation, but much to his dismay sharing his ideas would lead to management. Over 15 years ago he switched to driving Semi's and hauling materials, with double side dumps being his favorite. He loved driving those big trucks but chose jobs where he only drove in state to be near his family.

Jay was kind to neighbors, friends, and was the person you would see stop to help someone on the side of the road. He always carried cash for kids' lemonade stands and older homeless people he would see.

Jay is survived by his wife of 30 years Martha (McDonald) McIff, Jesse McIff (son), and Cassie McIff (daughter) and their menagerie of special needs animals.

Jay was a no nonsense kind of guy. He wanted to be cremated and put in a coffee tin (we're still getting an Urn) but there will be no viewing or funeral. At some later date we may have a small gathering to celebrate his life and spread his ashes.
