A LIVE WEBCAST of Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am, Monday, March 29, 2021 at www.walkersanderson.com ______________________________ Jeanette Bieler Van Alfen February 5, 1936 - March 19, 2021 Jeanette Bieler Van Alfen returned to be with our loving Heavenly Father early Friday morning, March 19, 2021, in Provo, Utah, to be reunited with her parents, sisters Donna, Virginia, and Evelyn. She was born February 5, 1936, in Ogden to her parents, whom she adored, Paul and Itha Bieler. She married Curtis Nicholas Van Alfen on June 3, 1955, in the Salt Lake City Temple. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Curtis; her five children and their spouses, Lynne (Rick), Brad (Karen), Doug (Katherine), Scott (Dana), Greg; 24 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren. Jeanette graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber College before dedicating her life to the service of her family. She loved the Savior and tried to live a life worthy of his example. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Curtis served as Mission Presidents of the California, Anaheim Mission. She served the missionaries, who became family to her, with all her heart. She and Curtis also served an 18-month CES mission in the Institue Program of the Boston, Massachusetts area. She lived her life with a deep concern for other people and sought ways to lighten the burdens of those around her. Though her passing leaves us with a sense of sadness, gratitude surrounds all who had her in their lives. A viewing for family and friends will be held Sunday, March 28, from 6-8 PM at the Edgemont Chapel on 4056 Timpview Drive, Provo, Utah 84604. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 29, 2021, 11:00 AM, at the same Edgemont Chapel in Provo. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at the East Lawn Cemetery.
