Jessie Mae Myers Hartvigsen was born on May 10 th, 1930 in Spring Lake, UT. She passed away peacefully at home on January 10 th 2019, at the age of 88.
Jessie was the ninth daughter of Richard James and Jennie Dean Wilcock Myers. Her parents and eight sisters preceded her in death. Jessie married Melvin Richard Hartvigsen on December 30 th, 1950. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. She served in various church callings throughout her life, her favorite being primary secretary for over 27 years. She worked at the BYU Marriott Center Ticket Office for 34 years. Jessie loved working in her yard, planting flowers and keeping it looking beautiful. She loved traveling and photography, and had the opportunity to visit countless places throughout the world during her lifetime. Jessie's family was truly the most important thing in her life! She was a very devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her five children: Laurie (Frank) Lindberg Poe, Richard (Karolyn) Hartvigsen, Shelly Unga, Jeffrey Hartvigsen and Darren (Amy) Hartvigsen. 20 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Shane Patrick Lindberg; a great granddaughter, Bryton Marie Lindberg; and a granddaughter-in-law, Mechelle Levi Lindberg.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, January 17, 2019, 11:00 a.m., Spring Hollow 2 nd Ward, 1152 North 400 West, American Fork, Utah. Friends and family may visit Wednesday, January 16, 2019, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem and prior to services Thursday, January 17, 2019, 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. at the church.
