On Tuesday February 26, 2019 John Frederick Lahman received his wings and returned to a loving Heavenly Father. John was born January 20, 1940 in Soda Springs, Idaho to Frederick Christian Lahman and Edith Ann Mayne. He was the oldest of eight children. He spent his childhood in Soda Springs and graduated from Soda Springs High School. After graduation he traveled the United States selling magazines. In 1961 he joined the United States Marines and served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1971. Although anyone who knew John knows that he never ever left the Marines, he was a Marine through and through. After the Marines he worked as a maintenance supervisor for large apartment complexes in California, Utah, Texas and Arizona. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served faithfully in several calling throughout his life. While in the Marines he met and married Judy Schaffer, they later divorced. He then married JoAnn Moiren and she passed away. In 1982 he married Erma Gore and in 2012 they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. He is survived by his wife, Erma, daughter Sue Spencer (Pat), daughter Julie Rogers (Steve), son Arthur Todd Loeffler, sister Erva Fitzsimmons (Cliff), Martha Morrey (Steve), Alice Wells and a brother Allen Lahman (Melanie), 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers Paul and Mike, one sister Susie, three daughters Cindy, Susan, and Stephanie, and two grandchildren and one great grandchild. A viewing will be held at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home located at 636 East 800 North Orem Utah on Friday March 8 th from 6:00-8:00 PM. The funeral will be on Saturday March 9 th at the Cherry Hill 9 th ward building located at 135 East 2000 South Orem at 11:00 am with the viewing prior to the service. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery at 1997 South 400 East, Springville 84663 with Military Honors performed by American Legion Post 28.
