Obituary

John Raymond Nies of Mapleton, UT (previously of Redmond, Wa) was called home to our Heavenly Father on August 28th, 2022

John was born on September 23rd, 1968 in Richland, Washington and was adopted into the loving home of Carl and Linda Nies. He spent his early years in Kent, WA and the remainder of his youth in Maple Valley, WA. John graduated from Tahoma High School in 1987. John found his calling in the trade of paintless dent removal (PDR), built a thriving business in which he excelled and enjoyed for over 30 years. He purchased a home in Redmond Washington in 1998 and met Katie Chissus in 2001. Their Daughter, Emily Ann entered this world in August of 2002, and they were married later that year, on December 14 2002. John became a single dad four years later due to the sudden passing of Katie. John stayed in Redmond until 2018 and then relocated to Orem, UT. He reconnected with a close friend, Heidi Jensen-Kirby which led to a deep friendship, loving relationship and eventually a happy Marriage in November of 2019. They sold their homes and made "their'' home in Mapleton, UT in September of 2020.

John was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. John has never met a stranger, and he became friends with nearly everyone he met. He had a personality people were drawn to.

He was preceded in death by Carl Nies, Katie Nies, and Bill Burris. John left his loving family, Heidi Kirby Nies (spouse), Emily Ann Nies (daughter), Ellie (Zach) Marschke (daughter), Lasca (Casey) Crandall (daughter), Brogan (Aaron) Featherstone (daughter), Joecee Kirby (daughter), Stryder Kirby (son) and Kaymin Kirby (daughter). Pop John's grand kids, Ronin, Ellie, and Sage Crandall, and Journey and Oakley Featherstone. Linda Ann Burris (mom), Carol Ruth Nies

(Bonus mom), Bill Nies (Brother), Kim (Steve) Brown, Kevin (Garnet) Kutterer & Kris (Karen) Kutterer. Also many nieces, nephews, friends and family.

There will be a celebration of John's life on Thursday, September 1, 2022 in the cultural hall from 6pm-8pm. Mapleton 3oth ward building, 475 North 1600 West Mapleton, UT 84664.

A funeral will be held at the same building on Friday, the 2nd. The family will be receiving guests from 9:30-10:30 am. Funeral services will begin at 11 :00 am.

The interment will be at the American Fork Cemetery, and a luncheon will be held for family and friends afterwards at the Mapelton ward building, hosted by the Mapleton 12th and 30th wards.
