IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Robert
Parish
September 12, 1978 – July 24, 2024
John Robert Parish, affectionately called Johnny, passed away peacefully in his Orem, Utah home on July 24, 2024, surrounded by family after a short, but intense battle with stage 4 colon cancer. Born on September 12, 1978 to Anna King and Wesley Parish in Provo UT, Johnny is survived by his cherished wife, Heidi Alder Parish, and four wonderful and amazing children, Emma (Greg Jessen), Liberty, Abigail, and John Quincy.
Johnny's early years were spent in the company of his siblings, Jeff Parish (Amber), David Parish (Leadelle), Deborah (David Passey), Michael Parish (Shan'l), Rebecca (preceded him in death), Thomas (Jenni), Joseph (Yuri), and Kathryn where they forged a bond that would last a lifetime.
After graduating from Orem High School in 1997, he faithfully served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kiev Ukraine, speaking the Russian language. Upon his return he studied at Utah Valley University where he obtained his Associates degree. He then transferred to Brigham Young University where he finished his Bachelor's degree in Sociology.
After graduating from BYU Johnny worked a short while as a Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Specialist for the Caldwell, Idaho School District. He was beloved by students and staff. He later worked with his brother, Tommy, at Ferox LLC. He spent the last 10 years of his career working with his brother, David, as the Production Manager at Designed Nutritional Products. He was a vital part of the company, wearing many hats.
In 2001, Johnny married his college sweetheart, Heidi Alder, and together they created a wonderful family and life together. Johnny's legacy is carried on through his family, whom he treasured with every fiber of his being. He is a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. His passing will leave a huge hole in their lives.
An impressive pumpkin carver and sourdough bread baker, Johnny happily shared these talents with his family, friends, and neighbors. He loved to design and grow a garden each year, and from the produce create the most mouth-watering salsa one has ever tasted. He loved serving in various callings in his ward and stake where he inevitably made new and life long friends. But Johnny's favorite pastime was spending time with his cherished wife and children. They were his world.
