The world lost an angel as our beloved Jordan Mary Marvin Chilcote passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 surrounded by her loving friends and family.
Everyone whom Jordan met came away a better person for having met her. She spent her life helping all of those around her, from her husband David and daughter Olivia, to her friends and family, her patients as a nurse and caregiver, her pet cats, and any poor stray animal that crossed her path. Her heart was open to all and there was always room for more within. Her example of kindness, eagerness, service, charity, and encouragement will be missed by all of those who had been fortunate enough to be touched by her life.
Never the type to be a dancer, Jordan would be found competing on the soccer field, always seeking to help her team. She also loved spending time fishing with her father Vance, sitting beside the water talking and joking and waiting for the fish to bite. She loved when she and her mom would visit those in need, whether neighbors or the elderly, and brighten their day together. She wanted to see the world and explore everywhere she could, always seeking a new adventure. With her husband David and many friends and family she travelled around the world from Hawaii to Paris to Rome, seeking to experience all that life had to offer.
She graduated high school in Orem, UT from UCAS already having earned her associate degree. She began her career of service to others while still in high school as a CNA. She continued her education at the University of Utah and then Westminster College where she received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing. She easily passed her certification to become a Registered Nurse. She was a ray of sunshine to all of those in her care at Sunrise Senior Living in Holladay, UT, where she assisted those in memory care and assisted living. She continued her devoted service to easing the pain of others as she became a hospice nurse and lightened the burden of those who were nearing the end of their own journeys. She lived and loved to serve all that she met.
She met her beloved husband David while working together at Arby's and they became inseparable. If ever two people were made for each other, it was David and Jordan. Married when Jordan was 18 and David was 20, they quickly began to explore life and experience all they could. She was the love of David's life and he was the love of hers. They had a unique chemistry apparent to all, and despite his endless teasing, she always came out ahead. They loved to spend time with friends and family and together they served as an example of true love to all those that were around them.
Having accomplished so much, they decided there was room in their lives for more love and they welcomed their beautiful daughter Olivia into this world on March 28, 2019. She has her mother's sweet disposition and, like Jordan, brings happiness to all who meet her. Jordan loved her with all her heart and was fortunate enough to spend a few weeks with Olivia and look into her beautiful eyes.
Jordan will be missed by all. She is survived by her husband David, daughter Olivia, mother Carol (George) Wilson, siblings Kathy (Lamar) Losee, Jane Marvin, Curtis (Sharon) Marvin, Patricia (Wirth) Sanderson, Justin (Margaret) Millstead, Jessica (Karl) Cain, Jackie Eddleman, and countless family and friends.
She was predeceased by her father Vance Marvin.
