IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jose Drusso
Ferron
June 28, 1965 – November 27, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and disbelief that the children of Jose Drusso Ferron announce his passing, at the age of 60 years old. Drusso was tragically killed in an automobile accident on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025, in McFarland, California. Where he had lived for the past 14 plus years.
Drusso was born on June 28, 1965, in Obregón, Sonora, Mexico, the second oldest of five children born to Ernesto Olivero Ferron Zepeda and Armida Ines Ferron Garza. At the age of 14, he immigrated to the United States, where he later graduated from Bell High School, in 1984, in California.
Following high school, Drusso reunited with his mother and siblings in Provo, Utah. He was the only one of five siblings to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From 1986 to 1988, he served faithfully in the Mexico City South Mission.
While serving his mission, Drusso met a young woman who became not only his convert, but later his wife and the mother of his three children. He was married and sealed to Gloria Estela Salgado in the Mexico City Temple on July 10, 1988. Their marriage lasted 16 years. Though they later separated, they were never divorced.
Drusso is survived by his three children: Gloria Ferron-Uribe (Luis), Veronica Ferron, and Drusso Ferron, along with extended family members and friends.
A passionate lover of sports, Drusso was rarely without a team in his younger, healthier years. Whether through work, church, or recreational leagues, he was always involved—playing soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball, and even trying his hand at boxing.
He later became a soccer coach for both of his daughters' teams, leading them to undefeated seasons. He also coached Provo's Peaks Indoor Soccer first girls' team, guiding them to become champions.
Our father was a hardworking man during the early years of our lives. He loved camping, road trips to Disneyland, going to the movies, and finding any excuse to celebrate—often with ice cream. He also endured a difficult childhood, and life was not always kind to him. He faced many trials and struggled at times with love, emotion, and accountability. It is our hope that he has entered the next life free from these burdens and limitations.
Drusso was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Though he lived a complex and adventurous life, his love for the gospel and his testimony never wavered, even through his difficult battle with diabetes. He remained a teacher and missionary to many throughout his life and often said that his mission were the best two years of his life.
"Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things." —Alma 26:12
Funeral services will be held on December 30, 2025 in Delano, California.
A private graveside service will be held on January 7th, 2026, once his body road-trips one final time back to Utah, where he will be laid to rest by his mother.
