Joseph Angelo Rainaldi (Jolting Joe) February 28, 1927 - June 29, 2018 Joseph Angelo Rainaldi passed away early Friday morning, June 29, 2018, at the age of 91 and returned home to Heaven. He died from natural causes. He was living at Jamestown Assisted Living Center in Provo, Ut. at the time of his passing and was surrounded by his loved ones. Joe was born February 28, 1927 in Magna, Utah to Peter Rainaldi and Carmela Chiocchia Rainaldi. He is survived by his brother, Tony Rainaldi. He married Dolores Mae Rainaldi on August 13, 1949 and raised 11 children. Chris (Robert) Young, Joseph Peter (Judy) Rainaldi, Ann (Tom) Trafny, Susan (the late Rick) Olsen, Dennis Paul Rainaldi, Robert (Silvia) Rainaldi, Barbara Rainaldi, Michael Barry (Susan) Rainaldi, Paul (Penny) Rainaldi, Elizabeth Rainaldi, and Theresa (Paul) Massey. Dolores died on August 14, 1981. He then married Joyce H Zaccardi on May 22, 1982 who had 6 children. Michael (Ginger) Zaccardi, Mark (Sheila) Zaccardi, Nancy (Steven) Williams, James (Jamie) Zaccardi, Peter (Trena) Zaccardi, and Patrick Zaccardi. Between the two families there were 55 grand children and many more great grandchildren and even some great great grandchildren. Joe had many titles throughout his 91 years of life. Son, Friend, Football Hero, Scholar, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Great Great Grandfather. He was an outstanding Catholic and a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Orem. His faith was who he was. He was on the building committee for the church and instrumental in getting the first phase done. He was a star football player for Cyprus High in Magna, Utah from 1942 to 1944 and was instrumental in winning the 1944 State Championship!! They gave him the nickname of Joltin' Joe!! He graduated from Westminster College in 1954. He served as their Student Body Vice President his Senior year. In 1952 he was awarded a trip to New York by the National Manufacturer's Association. He owned a drive-in called the Chatter Box in the early 1950s for a short time. He retired from Geneva Steel Plant after working as the Foreman of the Foundry. He had an insatiable love for learning. Loved his Italian heritage, reading, woodworking, flying model airplanes, traveling, and being very involved with his family . He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Carmela Rainaldi, sister Lorraine Rainaldi Pannunzio, brothers Angelo Pete Rainaldi and Peter Michael Rainaldi, wife Dolores Santone Rainaldi, sons Dennis Paul Rainaldi and Patrick Zaccardi, granddaughter Bethany Williams, and grandson Scott Zaccardi. He will definitely be missed by everyone that knew him, but we know that he is now in a better place. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 6th at the St Francis Church located at 65 E 500 N, Orem, Ut. at 9:00 am. A Rosary will be said, with a viewing immediately following until 10:45 am. A Funeral Mass will then be held at 11:00 am. The Burial will follow at the Mount Calvary Cemetery, located at 275 U St, Salt Lake City, UT.
