Obituary

Joyce Williamson Clark loved family and on September 16, 2022 she was able to have a great family reunion with those awaiting her return in heaven.

Joyce was born August 6, 1938 to Harold Kenton and Ruth Ilene Nielsen Williamson. She was the oldest of three children and the only girl. She grew up and attended schools in Provo, graduating from Provo High School. While in school she accumulated many friends. A lot of those she was still close to and visited with until the time of her passing. She thought of them as valued treasures.

Music was another thing that Joyce loved. In school she learned to play the violin and she regretted not keeping up with it. She also loved to sing and sang with many choirs.

After high school she began working for a real estate attorney. This began a career working in real estate working for real estate and title insurance companies. She was a successful business woman being a partner in Valley Title Company in Provo and Orem and owner of Valley Title Company in St. George. Many in the industry sought her help and knowledge.

She gave much of her life serving in the community. She was a member of Kiwanis, and Lions clubs. She served on many boards for the city and state. She was chosen once as Orem City's business woman of the year.

Joyce also worked with the Miss America Pageants. She served many years as pageant director for Utah County and Washington County Pageants. She got great joy out of seeing young women succeed.

Christmas was one of her favorite holidays and she had every room in her house decorated including a tree. She had a storage shed just for Christmas decorations. While living in St. George she participated in the Jubilee of Trees which helped raise money for children's services at Intermountain Healthcare. One year she helped her grandson decorate a Dr. Suess Christmas tree. Not only did it help raise money as being one of trees that sold for the most, it also helped build confidence in her grandson.

Serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was another love that Joyce had. She served in many callings but her favorite was working in the Young Women and Relief Society. Many of the young women she worked with thought of her as a second mom and she still had a close relationship with many of them.

Her greatest treasure, however, was her family. Joyce met Warren K Clark while working at an ice cream parlor in Provo. Kay went to the parlor just after he was released from the Air Force. At first her parents thought that Kay was an old man as he was balding on top. However they ended up thinking that Joyce was the lucky one. Joyce waited for Kay while he served a two year mission for the church and they were married on June 12, 1958 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they had 4 children but were unable to have more. They wanted a big family and so participated in the church's Indian Placement Program for 27 years. They also welcomed many others into their home and thought of them as their own. They continued to be Mom and Dad to a few of them, Colina Yazzie, Tina Keoni, and Davi Smithson. They loved their family. Joyce wanted pictures of her family hanging by her bed the last years of her life. She frequently asked what she could do for members of her family and was saddened that she could not do more or attend all of the events going on for them. Family was her greatest joy and her last words were that she loved her family.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kay, son Don, granddaughter Ragyn, great granddaughter Claira, and 1 bonus grandson. She is survived by her children Kalyne (John) Nicholes, Greg (Kayla) Clark, and JoDee (Ryan)Stott, 5 bonus children, 17 grand children, 15 bonus grandchildren, 7 great grand children and 19 bonus great children.
