Julie
Penrod
Dec 29, 1940 — Jun 17, 2026
Julie Nicol Penrod, 85, passed away peacefully at Intermountain Health Hospital in Provo on June 17, 2026, surrounded by her husband and family. Julie was born on December 29, 1940, in Heber City, Utah to Ned and Doris Nicol.
Julie lived a full life marked by faith, dedication to family, a love of travel, and an exceptional work ethic. She was blessed with a full childhood and dear friends, such as Jeniel Butler. Julie spent her days playing street games, building huts in trees, and going on long bike rides around her neighborhood; adventures that would only end when she heard the familiar sound of her father’s whistle, signaling it was time to come home.
In her younger years, she aspired to be a Broadway dancer. She participated in the Swiss Days program in Midway, served as a dance instructor with her mother for the local junior high, and also made an appearance on the “Uncle Rosco” television show. In addition to dancing, Julie would fill her time with a myriad of activities. She loved horseback riding, snowmobiling, enjoyed oil painting, was an avid reader, and took numerous trips to the Uintah Mountains. She enjoyed visiting Yellowstone, Lake Powell, and later in life routinely sought to escape the chill of Utah winters by traveling to Yuma, Arizona, with her husband.
Julie demonstrated diligence and devotion in many areas of her life, including the workplace. She worked faithfully at Central Bank for 20 years and was also employed for 13 years at Haywards, a high-end clothing store where she traveled to California and coordinated fashion shows.
While Julie had many interests, what she cherished most was her family and friends. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents; Ned and Doris Nicol, her siblings, Larry Nicol and Charlotte Hills; her daughter, Tiffany Penrod Olsen Warner; and her grandchildren, Natalie Farrer, Britney Bird, and Kellyn and Ryan Hansen. She is survived by Reed C. Penrod; her husband of 67 years, her two daughters; Michele (Scott) Farrer and Rennie (Tim) McPhie; and many others who were blessed to be part of her extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday June 22nd at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 494 West Main Canyon Road Wallsburg, Utah 84082-9790. A viewing for family and close friends will take place in the same building beginning at 9:30am and will conclude at 10:30am.
