IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Karen Jean
Roberts
November 6, 1970 – December 22, 2024
Karen Jean Roberts 1970-2024
Karen Jean Roberts age 54 of Orem, Utah died December 22, 2024. She was born in Provo, Utah on November 6, 1970. As was her death, Karen was born prematurely. She fought hard to come into this world weighing a little over 4 pounds. She was a beautiful child with disarming blue eyes and curly blonde hair. Karen attended elementary school in Orem until her family moved to Salt Lake. She attended Evergreen Jr. High and Central High. After graduating she worked at the Newspaper Agency in Salt Lake where she met and made lifelong friends. She met Owen Roberts who she fell in love with because she said he made her laugh. They were the proud parents of Tyler Roberts. She was so proud of Tyler and always had the biggest joyful smile when talking about him. Karen and Owen built their dream home in Summit Creek where she loved hiking and watching wildlife from their porch. Karen loved to entertain family and friends in their home. Going to her home was always a delight because it was so festive and welcoming. Karen loved spending time with her family, especially when it involved camping and fishing. Karen was generous and loved giving gifts for birthdays and every holiday. Giving brought her boundless joy. Though times weren't always easy Karen bravely battled through private and not-so-private struggles but always knew her family loved her.
Karen was preceded in death by her father William Strong, her favorite person in the world-"Grammy" Dortha Hatch, her Grandfather Joe C. Hatch and her favorite uncle Joe R. Hatch, her fur babies Dottie-Jo and M.J. She is survived by her son Tyler Roberts and his father Owen Roberts, mother Joyce (Stan) Thornton, brother Kevin Strong, half-siblings B.J. Strong, Jeremiah (Kaleena) Strong, Angie (Francisco) Hernandez, stepsister Stacie (Frank) Breitzman, stepbrother Clinton Thornton, and her aunt Tammy (Craig) Morgan and numerous cousins.
They may leave the earth, but they never leave our hearts!
A celebration of life will be held at an announced date in the future.
