On December 11th, 2017 our Heavenly Father called our spunky, sassy, spikey-haired grandma home. Karen Ruth McBride Wilson was born in Provo, UT on November 27th, 1955. She grew up in Lindon and Pleasant Grove where she had many wonderful friends. She spent her childhood riding bikes, sledding, fishing, and just being cheerful and happy. Karen graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. While there, she participated in Pep Club, Cheerleading, Student Government, Yearbook; and helping with many other school activities. At the age of 17, Karen was crowned a "Job's Daughter Queen". She also met and fell in love with her best friend and high school sweetheart, Keven Wilson. They were married on October 22, 1975 at the Orem Community Church, where she and her parents attended. Not long after that, she was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Their family became eternal as they were sealed together in the Salt Lake Temple in 1977. She spent many years in church callings and service to others. Throughout her life, Karen loved to entertain and spent a tremendous amount of time with her family and friends. She dearly loved them and showed that love by countless quiet acts of genuine service. Hawaii, Disneyland, Zions, Bear Lake, and Jackson Hole were places she was particularly fond of. There she shared her kindness and love of life with her family and friends. She loved to hike, snow and water ski, snowmobile, and especially travel to see new places. She took pride in having an immaculate home and yard. Seeing movies, and quoting them was a favorite of hers. We will all deeply miss her; along with the popcorn, cookies, snickers, diet coke, and the clicking of her high heels. She was preceded in death by her parents Truman and Edna May McBride. She is survived by her husband, Keven; children, Johnathan Brett, Vance K (Karissa), Amber Lynn (Josh); 4 granddaughters, Kaelynn, Megan, Rachel, and Abigail; 2 grandsons, Tanner and Kaden; and her dog Izzy ... (she spoiled the grandkids and the dog way more than her own kids). Also her brother Dan, sister Trudy, and niece Nicole (Greg). We want to thank the many dear friends and medical personnel who lovingly cared for her during her illnesses. A viewing will be held on December 18th at 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home - 646 East 800 North, Orem UT. The funeral will be on December 19th, Sunset Heights 6th Ward, 500 South 600 West, Orem at 11:00 am. There will be a short viewing from 9:00 to 10:00 prior to funeral services. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
