IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kelicia
Helquist
November 28, 1967 – October 14, 2023
Kelicia Helquist, beloved daughter, sister and aunt returned to her eternal home on
October 14, 2023.
Kelicia was born on November 28, 1967 in Flagstaff, Arizona-the fourth of seven
children. She graduated from Mountain View High School in 1986.
She worked for decades in the hotel industry, primarily as a breakfast room attendant.
She took great pride in her work and her joyful kindness was remembered by many of
her guests.
For many years of dependable service, she earned an all-expense paid vacation to
Hawaii. She was proud to take her parents along as her guests. Kelicia loved to travel
and visited places from coast to coast. She especially loved visiting national parks, and
she spent several summers working at the Zion National Park Lodge.
Kelicia was a true blue Cougar and she took every opportunity to watch BYU football
and basketball games. She was also a dedicated Orem Owlz fan.
She loved country music, and she was able to convert a few new fans. She taught her
sisters how to line dance, and persuaded anyone she could to join her at country
concerts.
In 2000, Kelicia selflessly donated a kidney to her sister Lynette. She was proud to have
her name included on the Celebration of Life Monument at Salt Lake City's Library
Square.
Kelicia faced all of life's challenges with quiet determination, and she cultivated joy all
along the way.
Kelicia is survived by her parents, Lamar and Colleen Helquist and her siblings: Lynette,
Suzanne (Tim), Brett (Mary Jane), Sharilyn (Craig), Michelle (Rob) and Melissa (Will).
She was the heart of our family and we will miss her dearly.
