"Wooly"
Kenneth M Johnson or as most of us know him "Wooly," passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 16, 2021. He was born and raised in Provo, Utah to Max and Ruth Johnson. He graduated from Provo High School in 1969. After high school he went on to begin his lifelong journey in construction. He started his own company and was very successful for over 30 years, building churches, houses, offices, and just about anything else you can think of. When he wasn't working, he spent is time hunting, fishing, riding horses and as much time as possible at the cabin in Accord Lakes, Salina where he loved to sit on the porch in the morning drinking coffee before it was time to get to work.
Ken married his sweetheart Julie Anderson of Orem on February 16, 1974. Together they had 3 daughters, Lacey, Emberly, and Crystal. After 21 years of marriage, they divorced but remained close friends until the end. In 2003, Ken married Traci Carnesecca. They had many adventures together but divorced a year later.
Ken worked hard and played hard. With many trips to the Oregon Coast where he was able to follow in his dads' footsteps and fish for Salmon, bottom fish and if the ocean was flat, Tuna. Many memories were made on is dad's boat, Happy Hour and Ken's own boat The U2. When he finally decided to hang up his tool belt, he spent his days playing poker on his computer, traveling in his RV to visit family and friends, "drinkin thinkin" up projects for us all to do and going on adventures in his Gypsy. Two of his favorite things to do was getting firewood for both the cabin and his mom and dad's house and cutting down a Christmas tree every year. He spent many hours in the mountains of Salina riding his horses Kidd, Bullet, and Roho.
He is survived by his 3 daughters Lacey (Taw) Jackman, Emberly Argyle, and Crystal (Bobby) Coombs, his sisters Peggy D'Avignon, and Colleen Chilton and many more friends and family members. He is also survived by his 9 grandkids Ridger, Rylee, Rori, Elizabeth, Jake, Braelee, Taryn, Hayden and Alyssa.
He has been reunited with his parents, Max and Ruth Johnson, his brother-in-law Don D'Avignon, his beloved cousin and best friend Gary Dean, and many other friends and family.
A viewing will be held Friday August 27th from 6-8 PM and Saturday August 28th from 9-9:45 AM, at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home 646 E 800 N, Orem, Utah 84097. Funeral services will be at the same location beginning at 10:00 AM. A graveside dedication will proceed at the Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, 4800 N 650 E, Provo, Utah
