IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Elmo
Millett
December 30, 1931 – January 25, 2024
Kenneth Elmo Millett 92, from Pleasant Grove, Utah passed away peacefully of natural causes in his home at 1:06 AM on January 25, 2024. Kenneth was the second of six children and the first son born to Jesse Elmo and Bernice Kooyman Millett. He was born at home in American Fork, Utah on December 30th, 1931.
He married Margaret May Ericson on August 1,1952 in Tacoma, Washington and was later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on April 8, 1960. He and his wife have a large posterity and they have eight children.
He enlisted and served in the U.S. Army on March 30,1950 during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged on April 27,1953. Upon returning home, he worked in several places, including, Boeing Aircraft, Ironton Steel, as a millwright and later as a machinist for Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company (McWane Ductile) where he retired. He had lots of "irons in the fire" and loved to tinker on cars. He was a Ford man and would only own a Ford. Whenever he was working and tinkering on something, you would hear him sing and as he would say "I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket", whistle and even yodel to the music he was listening to. His favorite music was country, especially the artist Hank Snow.
He loved to garden and spend time on the "dry" farm in Pleasant Grove. He was the epitome of the word service and helped anyone in need. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he had a strong love for the Gospel and magnified his many callings and Priesthood whenever the opportunity arose.
He is preceded in death by his wife Margaret Ericson Millett, his parents, four siblings, his second son Jesse Clinton Millett and a great-granddaughter Brylee Jean Millett. He will be greatly missed. Dad is survived by his youngest sister Karen Hampton (Larry), and his seven children: Kenneth Millett Jr.(Diane), Catherine Michela (Mike, deceased), Regina Cooper Millett (Jess-deceased), Tracy Millett (Stephanie), Michiel Millett (Wendy), Lisa Millett, Davin Millett (Joyce). Merinda Millett, 22 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren (almost 29).
We would like to give special thanks to all those who helped with all of Dad's medical needs. Lisa for his daily care.
