IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kurt Conrad
Cotant
July 9, 1960 – January 6, 2025
K.C. (Kurt Conrad) Cotant passed away of natural causes on Monday, January 6, 2025.
K.C. was born in Provo, UT on July 9, 1960. He was the fourth child of Richard and Beverly Cotant. K.C. spent most of his life in Orem where he made life long friendships. K.C. graduated from Orem High School in 1978.
After graduating, K.C. held numerous jobs over the years. He ended up going to Arizona to help his brother Kip on a commercial job installing carpet. This was supposed to be a month of work but K.C. ended up staying over 15yrs. When K.C. moved back to Utah, he went to work for Dick Simon Trucking. He drove for Dick Simon until they were bought out by Consolidated Trucking. He ended up driving long haul for just over 10yrs. After that, he went to work for his sister and brother-in-law, Kori and Paul Prestwich driving dump trucks for just over 2yrs. He later worked at Little Giant Ladders Manufacturing and then Walmart. People loved K.C. for the person he was and always having a smart comment. He would often joke with them about what "roadkill" they were planning to cook. People laughed all the time at his jokes and sense of humor. K.C. loved to get a reaction out of people. He loved to make people laugh and always had a good time doing it.
K.C. loved reading, all things sci-fi, mystery, westerns, and war movies but really enjoyed documentaries. He loved learning and had a great knowledge of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
K.C. never had children of his own but he enjoyed being around his nieces and nephews and his great nieces and nephews. He loved to "rough them up," he loved them all so much. K.C. loved his brothers and sisters very much, but nothing made him happier than giving them a hard time and ruffling their feathers. Those were his favorite past times. K.C. has always had a big heart for animals. It didn't matter what it was or whose they were he always gave them attention and left them wanting more. He especially loved dogs and they loved him. They always knew who had the treats. K.C. didn't have a mean bone in his body. He cared for people and would give the shirt off his back for anyone. He never held grudges and always looked past people's faults. He always cared about what people were doing and how they were doing.
McCall Idaho was his favorite place to be with his family and he always made sure people knew where he was by having the biggest fire in the camp ground. He was the pyro behind that huge glowing fire. He was always concerned about having enough wood to burn for the week. He loved getting in a car and just driving. He loved driving and stopping at all his go to stops. He had a routine and he did it often.
There is going to be a big hole in our hearts, but we find peace in knowing he is with his parents, brother Kent, and best friend Mike Zabriskie, along with other family and friends who have passed on. We will miss you everyday K.C. Until we meet again.
K.C. is survived by his siblings, Kip (Nancy) Cotant, Kelli (Randy) Johnson, Kori (Paul) Prestwich, Kerri (Paul) Prawitt, Kris (Sandra) Cotant, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. K.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Beverly Cotant, and his brother Kent Cotant.
