Obituary

Kyle Roger Carter, 57, passed from this life to join his parents and little brothers, Robert and Richard, on December 17, 2021. Kyle was born on November 27, 1964 in Provo, UT, to Blaine and Glenda Carter. He was the oldest of seven children. Kyle attended Orem High School and was part of the graduating class of 1983. In high school, he enjoyed wrestling and being on student council as the business manager. He also worked hard to receive his Eagle Scout award. In his teenage years, Kyle helped his dad build their family cabin in Midway, Utah. He enjoyed many weekend trips there with his parents throughout his life. Kyle served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Roanoke, Virginia. He often shared stories of the people he served and friendships he made. One of his first jobs was working for his former mission president at Beneficial Life Insurance. Kyle had a gift of being able to talk to anyone about anything. He made everyone around him feel like they mattered and he genuinely cared about what they were saying. Kyle's outgoing personality made him successful in his career in business marketing and sales. His most recent position was a Senior Manager at Tee & See Marketing. Kyle had many hobbies and interests including coin collecting, traveling, boating, water skiing, scuba diving with Robert, laughing behind the camera to make everyone else laugh, and attending Jazz games with his mom and brothers. Kyle had a very empathetic heart and could feel others' sorrows and pain. A good friend said on his behalf, "Kyle seemed to take upon himself the angst of those around him, sort of a Christlike act of empathy. He felt a sadness and pain at a depth I don't understand and that I can't feel. Perhaps he had an empathy chip that was more advanced than ours…he could feel deeper. I suspect that special capability was groomed over the years as he internalized and self-reflected on so many contradictions in his own life, and because of all the things he went through. Yeah, he was special. Only someone who went through deep pain and introspection of the soul like he did in his life could feel that deeply." Kyle is deeply loved by his entire family and will be missed. We are all devastated by his sudden passing, but are comforted from the knowledge that he is with his mom, dad, and brothers. Kyle is survived by his siblings: Elaine (Dan), Karl (Sunny), Rodney, and Andy (Jill), nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and his beloved pet, "Kitty". He is preceded in death by his father and mother (Blaine and Glenda Carter) and his two younger brothers, Robert and Richard. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, at 11:00 AM at the Orem 2nd ward Church building: 80 South 280 East Orem, UT 84058. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 9:30-10:30 AM. Burial will be at the Orem City Cemetery. The family would like to thank everyone at Walker Sanderson Mortuary for their compassion, love, and care. They have gone above and beyond our expectations. We would also like to thank all the family and friends who have reached out to us during this difficult time. Your phone calls, texts, donations, flowers, and prayers have truly touched our hearts.
