Obituary

L. Michael (Mike) Wall passed peacefully on Saturday, July 1, 2017 in Salt Lake City after an extended illness. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather known for his sense of humor and quiet demeanor. Mike was born to Sherman Albert Wall and Genevieve Sudweeks on May 26, 1945 in Provo, Utah. Mike's early life was spent in Santaquin, Utah. He was the second of four boys. His siblings are Sherman Albert Jr. (Ellen Mann-deceased), Merrill Sudweeks (Sherrie Davis), and Jeffrey Brad (Kendra Curtis). The family moved to Provo, Utah when Mike was in the 3rd grade. He attended Maeser Elementary, Lincoln Jr. High, and Provo High School where he graduated in 1963. He received an Associate's degree in small instrument repair from Utah Trade Technical Institute and later received his Utah real estate license. MIKE MARRIED LINDA RUTH CLARK on February 2, 1968 in the LDS Manti Temple. They had three sons; MICHAEL LYNN (Holly Ann Harding), children: Michael J. (MJ), Sarah Ann, Jessica Marie, Megan Noelle, Bryan Nathan, Tucker Casey, and Emily Rose; MATTHEW CLARK (Crystal Joyce Bentley), children: McKenna Sophia, Matthew Christian, and Amalea Rose; GREGORY SCOTT (Wendy Jo Rigtrup), children: Wyatt Carson, Morgan Alyse, and Halle Brooke. They started their married life in Provo, Utah and after 7 years moved their young family to Orem. Orem would be their home for most of their life, where they enjoyed gardening, fruit trees, and the breeze of Provo Canyon. For the last 11 years they have lived in Saratoga Springs with their son and daughter in law. Mike and Linda had just recently moved to St. George, UT. Mike was a dedicated worker, retiring from the United States Postal Service after 30 years of service. He had a love for real estate as well, and was an active agent for 7 years. Mike loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed many sports. He found great joy in coaching his son's baseball teams. Mike loved serving others. He was a member of the Jayce club in Provo and fulfilled many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints including five years as a temple worker. Mike is survived by his wife, Linda, his 3 sons and their wives, 13 grandchildren, and 3 brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be Friday, July 7, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the Canyon View Ward, 575 East 800 North, Orem. Family and friends may visit Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, or Friday morning at the church from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in Orem City Cemetery.
