Obituary

Marjorie LaRae Worthington Kendall, "LaRae," 93, passed peacefully from this life to the next on October 2, 2018.  We envision her sweet reunion with her dear husband, Clair Kendall, whom she has been apart from for 35 years. LaRae was born on October 30, 1924 to Charles and Anna (Annie) Worthington of Grantsville, Utah.  She grew up in Grantsville and attended Grantsville High School. While in high school, she participated in Band, Home Economics Club, and other activities. LaRae was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life.  She served as a missionary in the Southern States Mission.  After her mission, she met James Clair Kendall from Nephi, Utah. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 20, 1951.  They moved to Nephi where they raised their 3 children: AnnaRae, James, and Ruth.  LaRae served in several callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and many of them involved music. She was called several different times to be the Primary Music Chorister. LaRae loved to sing and participated in Ward Choirs and community choirs. She has held many other positions outside the church including school secretary, secretary of the draft board, and an employee for the forest service office. She also served for many years in the Family History Extraction program. LaRae loved to garden! She had a beautiful garden at her home in Nephi. She would do all the planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting by herself. She also bottled, dried, or froze the harvest from her garden for the winter months.  She was especially good at making Dilly (pickled) green beans.  She always had beautiful flowers in the front yard of her house. LaRae was a loving wife, mother, aunt, friend, grandma, and great-grandma! She is loved by many and will be missed by them. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clair Kendall; her son, James Clair Kendall, Jr.; her parents, Charles and Anna Worthington; her brothers: Ivan, Don, and Jay; and a great-granddaughter, Pearl McAllister. She is survived by her daughters, AnnaRae (Craig) McAllister, and Ruth Kendall, 10 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Heatheridge Stake Center, 450 E 2000 N, Orem, UT. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. LaRae Kendall will be buried in the Vine Bluff Cemetery, 1200 N 400 E, Nephi, Utah.  There will be a short graveside service at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.walkersanderson.com .
