IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larue
Fowler
November 26, 1937 – June 19, 2024
LaRue Jeffs Steinman Pearson Fowler
LaRue Jeffs Fowler, 86, passed away on June 19, 2024, in Orem, Utah. She was born on November 26, 1937, in Parker, Idaho. LaRue was the third child of Glenn L. Jeffs and Gwenith Margaret Parkinson Jeffs. She graduated from St. Anthony High School in May of 1956.
LaRue married William Theodore Steinman (Ted) on June 22, 1956, at her parents' home in Saint Anthony, Idaho. They had three children and divorced in January 1971. LaRue married Frank Perry Pearson on April 9, 1971, in St. Anthony, Idaho, uniting two families; Frank and LaRue were sealed in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple November 16, 1978. Frank lost his battle with cancer January 29, 1996. LaRue married Larry Fowler September 1996, they divorced in 2023.
LaRue worked at a variety of jobs from a young age through adulthood. Her favorite jobs were when she could meet people and get to know them. She also enjoyed working with children at the Arco School District. LaRue seemed happiest when she was working at the Idaho Falls, Idaho, Temple; she loved the work, the atmosphere, and the people.
LaRue served in many different callings; Young Women Presidency, Relief Society Presidency, varied positions in Primary, and baptism supervisor at the St. George Temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Having belonged to a bowling league for many years, LaRue enjoyed the friendships made even more than the bowling. Everywhere she went whether by car, plane, or motorhome she made friends. She enjoyed gardening, singing, sewing, cooking, camping, fishing, tole painting and finding cousins wherever she traveled. During the last stage of her life, her health and vision became a challenge, but she tried to continue working on family history when possible.
LaRue was known for hugs, kisses on the cheek, story-telling, playing card games, yodeling, craft projects for all, and the smell of one of her favorite perfumes — Somewhere or Obsession. She loved her family and cared for her friends and neighbors. May the memories that were created and shared be a comfort to all who knew and loved her.
LaRue was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lois Jeffs, grandson Brandon Ty Steinman, husband Frank Pearson, brother Lamont D. Jeffs, great-granddaughter Julia Abigail Schwabedissen, and granddaughter Jennifer (Pearson) Urban.
