Launa Mae Shippen Stewart, age 72, passed away October 12, 2021, in Irvine, California. Launa was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on August 14, 1949 to Paul Rex and Lola May Shippen. Launa had an older brother, Robert, and eventually two brothers, Lyle and David, and a sister, Kerri, joined the family. At the age of four, the family moved to San Diego, California, where Launa attended grade school and graduated from Helix High School in 1967.
After high school Launa attended beauty school in San Diego and became a beautician. She spent many years working in salons making many lasting friendships with her clients. She had a fun personality and infectious laugh. She made friends easily and was always the life of the party. Launa moved to Provo, Utah where she met and married Craig Stewart in 1974. They moved to Springville, Utah where she had a salon in her home. Craig and Launa had four children, Bronson, Amanda, Brittani, and Jacob. After their divorce, Launa moved to California where she continued to work many more years at Mitchell Anthony Salon.
In 2008, Launa married her dear friend of 19 years, Norma Dickerson. They lived in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, and were married for 13 years until she passed away. Launa will be missed greatly by her family and loved ones, Norma; children, Bronson (Lana) of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; Amanda Gonzales, of St. George, Utah; Brittani Guile (Nathan) of Provo, Utah; and Jacob (Jessica) of Riverside, California; her grandchildren, Nolan and Brianna Stewart, Kayla, Dylan, Matthew and Abigail Halladay, Zyla and Thorn Guile, and great granddaughter, Aubree Halladay, her brothers and spouses, sister, and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2021, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah. A graveside service will be held immediately following at Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem, Utah.
