Laurie Hilton Scott (1962-2023) passed away on December 30, 2023, at 61 years of age. Born on March 5, 1962, in Raleigh, North Carolina, Laurie was the fourth of ten children of H. Gill and Colleen Kirgan Hilton. She lived an adventurous and full life and never met a stranger. She grew up in Orem, Utah, where she graduated from Orem High School. She played the drums and participated in the school band, and her love of outdoor recreation flourished through the Unified Studies program.

Laurie was a lifelong and faith-filled member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a mission for the Church in Seattle, Washington, from August 1982 to March 1984. She graduated with a BA in English from Brigham Young University in 1988 and with an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Auburn University in 1992. Laurie married Rohy Neill Scott in the Jordan River Temple on April 5, 1996, and they adopted their daughter Annalisa Chun Scott from the Guangdong Province in China in 2004.

Laurie loved life, and she loved the people in her life, especially her husband and daughter. She saw and served all around her and had a gift for seeing and accepting people on their terms rather than society's. Her laugh was genuine and infectious, and her memory for details always amazed friends and acquaintances. She lived with bipolar disorder, which influenced but did not define her life.

She is survived by her husband, Neill, and daughter Annalisa. She is also survived by her mother, Colleen Hilton, and eight siblings and their spouses: Hugh (Nalene) Hilton, Duane (Alysia) Hilton, Kathryn (Keith) Chlarson, Sterling (Heidi) Hilton, Mariann (Bruce) Hilton, Nancy (Gary) Hilton, John (Tiffany) Hilton, and Stephen (Michelle) Hilton.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the church located at 80 West 900 South, Orem, UT. A viewing will be held prior to the service at the church beginning at 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM. Interment is at the Orem City Cemetery.
