LaVern was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many. LaVern married June Dutson and they had a son Tracy together and later divorced.

LaVern was married to her husband, Allen, on August 4, 1984, they were later sealed in the Provo temple. She was a dedicated caregiver to him in his final years, providing unwavering support and love until his passing in 2006. LaVern is survived by her son, Tracy (Sheryl) and her six stepchildren from her second marriage, Debbie (Dennis), Alene (David), Brent (Terrie), Fred (Connie), Bev (Paul), and Russell.

She was an active and involved grandmother and will be greatly missed by her many grandchildren and great- grandchildren. LaVern worked hard as a Title Officer to support her son Tracy as a single mom. LaVern was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and her warmth and kindness touched many lives. She dedicated her life to uplifting others, ensuring that everyone felt included, specifically the widows in her neighborhood. Her favorite way to spend time was catching up with her friends and loved ones, especially over a meal.
