Leah Lawanna Wilkinson Colunga

1949 ~ 2022

Leah Lawanna Wilkinson Colunga, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 18, 2022.

She was born to Max Wilkinson and Colleen Follett on August 14, 1949, in Provo, Utah. Leah married Jimmie D. Colunga in August 1967 in Provo, Utah (later divorced). Together they had three beautiful children: David, Tonia, and Justin.

Leah started her career at the age of 19 at Mountain Bell Phone Company as a switchboard operator and worked there for 25 years.

Leah enjoyed collecting dolls, talking on the phone with family and friends, listening to Elvis Presley, watching her favorite TV shows (Food Network and CSI shows), and shopping for hours. She also had fun going camping with her sister Sheila at her property.

She especially loved cooking meals for her family and being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mom was a shy person; she would always try to cover up her smile and so no one really got to see how beautiful her smile really was.

Leah is survived by her children: David (Misty) Colunga, Tonia Colunga, and Justin (Kellie) Colunga; Grandchildren: Lataushia, Kasia, Giovonnie, Kylie, Makayla, Quinn, Holden, Valentino; Great Grandchildren: Selonie, Ailine, Malia, Kolini and Viliani. She is also survived by her sisters Ila (Ron) Lepley, Ellen (Monty) Wessler, and Sheila Daley.

She was preceded in death by her dad: Max Wilkinson, mom: Colleen Follett, and Stepdad Robert Follett.

Services will be Saturday, July 23, 2022, 12 pm at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem. Family and friends may visit that morning from 10:30 – 11:30 am at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.walkersanderson.com.
