Lee Emil Bamgartner, 93, passed away in Provo Utah on Saturday December 2, 2017 from causes related to a fall. He was born August 28, 1924 in Providence Utah to Emil & Loretta Jessop Bamgartner. He married Maxine Louise Howes June 27, 1952 in the St. George Utah Temple. Lee grew up in McGill NV & graduated from White Pine High School in Ely, NV He joined the Navy out of High School during WWII, where he was a diver on the West Coast and in Japan. He worked for Kennecott, U.S.Steel Geneva Works, as a Millwright. Lee was a successful Real Estate Broker for many years in Utah Valley, serving in leadership and traveling on many conventions throughout the world. He also served on the Orem City Council. Lee loved people & found his greatest enjoyment serving them. Lee was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. While he held many callings that he loved, he really enjoyed serving as Bishop in a BYU Young Marrieds Ward. Lee served in the Provo Temple for many years. Lee & Maxine served two full time missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, first in the Philippines, Quezon City Mission July 1994-Jan 1996 and then in the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo East Mission Oct 1999-April 2001. From these missions, great experiences & many cherished friendships continue to this day. Lee & Maxine loved to travel, whether across the world or camping & fishing in their trailer. Lee was a lifelong fisherman, from streams to lakes to Oceans he could never get enough. Lee sponsored an Alaskan Fishing Trip with his sons that will be forever remembered and loved. Lee loved spending time at their second home in Emery, Utah with family & friends, where many cherished memories were made. He loved time spent with his family & his friends, they were the most cherished people in his life. Lee is survived by 4 children, Tammy O'Flaherty, Steven Lee (Lynette) Bamgartner, Michael Leon (Starr) Bamgartner, Susan (Joseph) Kolar. 14 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren. 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Lee was preceded in death by his wife Maxine, grandson Stevie Bamgartner, son in law Jim O'Flaherty, infant daughter Sandra Jean Bamgartner. Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday December 7, at the Orem Sharon 3rd Ward Chapel 430 South 700 East Orem, UT with a viewing at same location from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Family and Friends may attend a viewing Wednesday December 6, 6-8pm, Walker Sanderson Mortuary 646 East 800 North Orem, UT.
