IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leif Grizzly
Harris
February 3, 2023 – January 24, 2024
Leif Grizzly Harris was born to Sam and Marra Harris on February 3, 2023. Leif was born to parents who loved him fiercely. He was a very happy baby who looked forward to every upcoming bottle and next bite of food. In Leif's nearly 12 months of life, he was able to experience so many exciting things. It was an absolute joy to see life through his eyes and watch the new experiences rush over him.
From a young age (even as a newborn), his mom made sure that he always had a toy to comfort him. One of our favorite memories was when he was newly home from the hospital, he had his diaper bag and a separate bag of toys that accompanied him wherever he went. His mom wanted to be sure that he was having fun and a life full of enrichment. This was also evident in his love of books. He loved to be read to and loved even more to take a bite out of his books.
Saying hello to Leif was one of our favorite parts of the day. Leif greeted those he loved with a very gentle "head bonk" as an endearing gesture. This "head bonk" was a very tender greeting that was looked forward to by his family and friends. It was very gentle and his way of saying "hello" and showing his love. Leif also was always sure to tell everyone goodnight and made sure to give them a bedtime snuggle with a goodbye "head bonk".
Leif was very inquisitive. He loved to solve puzzles and find out how things worked the way that they did. It was a delight to watch him use his fingers to problem-solve and learn from his actions. One of his favorite problems to solve was why paper towels were so big. He would tear apart pieces of paper towels through what his family affectionately called his "Hulk smash". What was even more of a joy was to see how his face would react as he figured out these tasks. Leif was a boy of facial expressions. He had a powerful side-eye look and his expressions were priceless. Although he didn't talk, somehow we always knew what he was saying.
Leif had many favorite things in his life. Some of his most favorite things were his parents and grandparents. They caused him to light up and this light was contagious to all in the room. He loved his pup dog toy, his blankets, and his fish mobile. He had intense determination to get whatever he wanted and he had absolutely no fear in doing so.
Leif had a short life, but it was a perfect life. He had a lifetime full of memories, smiles, and giggles that he shared with us. As we reflect on the life that he lived we realize the perfectness that he is. He spent every day with his parents, and that is what helped him to develop such perfection. It was all he knew. He never knew about heartache, pain, or strife. All he is, is good, happy, and joyful memories. We sincerely hope that as you look at pictures and videos of him you see the happiness and pure joy of his life.
Leif is survived by his parents, Sam and Marra Harris, and their siblings Elgie Davis Jr., his cousins, Trip and Luke, Cody (Savannah) Davis, and his cousin, Leo, Jonah (Taylor) Harris, Zeke Harris, and Nathaniel Harris; his grandparents Elaine and Elgie Davis Sr., and Lisa and Justin Harris, as well as great-grandparents aunts, uncles and many cousins.
