Obituary

Linda Carolyn McEwen, 73, passed away unexpectedly on November 19, 2019 while visiting family in Texas. "I was born to Ralph Grant Bissey & Carolyn Ott Bissey on January 18, 1946 in Kimball Nebraska. I was the baby sister to three older brothers; Grant, Robert, & Ronald. In my younger years, I enjoyed being a member of the 4H club & playing the saxophone in my school marching band. After graduating from high school, I attended school at the University of Wyoming. I majored in Home Economics and Business. This is where I met the love of my life, Gary. "I was married on a beautiful day, October 19, 1967. It was sunny and warm. We were married in Phoenix Arizona, at the Central United Methodist Church. At 7pm I walked down the aisle in the beautiful church. This was the happiest day of my life. I was marrying my best friend. We had a beautiful wedding with approximately 50 guests present. What a wonderful day! Six years later, on October 19, 1973, my husband Gary and myself, were sealed to our children Kimberly and James, for all eternity. It was another wonderful day. During the next 26 years of marriage, we were blessed with 2 more children; Erik, & Rochelle. My husband passed away on July 8, 1994, we had a very wonderful life together, and I know that someday we will be together again." After attending the University of Wyoming, I continued my education at Barnes Business College, majoring in accounting. I finished my education and received my degree from Stevens-Henager Business College. I worked in accounting, was an independent tax consultant, and retired from Alpine School District after 25 years. In my time there, I met many of my life-long friends. I spent my life traveling and going to quilting retreats with family and friends. I enjoyed quilting, sewing, and going to concerts. I took many of my grand children on special adventures whenever possible. My family can remember me by my hand-made ornaments that I gifted every Christmas, following in my mothers foot steps. In my life, I was blessed with amazing children, in-laws, friends, grandchildren, and great-grand children. I am survived by my siblings; Robert (Gloria) Bissey, and Ronald (Jo Ann) Bissey. My children; Kimberly (Micheal) Long, James (Tiffany) McEwen, Erik (Katie) McEwen, and Rochelle (Gary) Pretsell. My grandchildren; Alyssa Long Jenkins, Shelbie Long, Paige Long Taylor, Haley Long, Andy Long, Amber McEwen, Presleigh McEwen, Preston McEwen, Anakin McEwen, Camden McEwen, Brinley McEwen, Gabriel Davis, Garrett Davis, & Grant Davis. Also, my great-grand children; Sophie Christen, Parker Jenkins, Micheal Taylor, and Jude Barnett. Along with them, I am survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. I am having a glorious reunion with my parents; Ralph and Carolyn Bissey, in-laws; James & Lucille McEwen. Brother; Grant Bissey, and the love of my life, Gary James McEwen. My services will be held on November 30, 2019. The day will begin with my viewing at 10:30 am, followed by my funeral services at Noon, at Aspen 5th Ward chapel located at 828 West 1600 North Orem, Utah. Immediately following my services, the interment will be held at Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, in Pleasant Grove, Utah.
