Lonnie James Moran 68 from Orem, Utah passed away with his family by his side Sunday, September 10, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. Lonnie was born in Browning, Montana on February 2, 1949 to Roger John Moran and Imelda Marie Johnson Moran. The family moved to Glasgow, Montana where Lonnie grew up and attended Saint Raphael's Catholic School. He graduated from Glasgow High School in 1968. Lonnie, a US Army Veteran served in Vietnam from 1970-1971. After returning he worked at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Denver, Colorado. He then transferred to the Tooele Army Depot in 1977 retiring from the Arsenal in 2007. Lonnie married Vicky Kay Camp on September 2, 1978. They have 2 beautiful daughters. Lonnie was an avid outdoorsman and he loved taking family and friends camping, hunting, and fishing every chance he got. He loved spending time with his grandchildren teaching them how to fish. Some of his favorite hobbies were woodworking, mining for sapphire's and Dutch oven cooking. He was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest sister Rebecca Joan Moran. He is survived by his wife and daughters Lacey Joan Moran and Jessie Kay Moran Burbank (Blake) and their three grandchildren Teganne Rei, Jackson Blake and Oliver James Burbank. Lonnie is also survived by his siblings: Roger Moran, Linda Ritten (Dan), Glenda Gaddes (Rick), Mary Shipp (Lawrence), Kathy Hoffman (Ken) and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be Friday, September 15, 2017, 1:00 p.m. at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem. Family and friends may visit that afternoon from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Orem City Cemetery with Military Rites. Condolences may be offered to the family online at WalkerSanderson.com.
