Obituary

Our bright light, Lorie Ann Christiansen Pearson, cherished as a gentle soul and pillar of strength, passed from this life to the next on January 8, 2025, and is now resting in the arms of Jesus.

Lorie was born May 22, 1967, in Provo, Utah, to Robert Boyd Christiansen and Dorothy M. Sisneros.

She is the precious middle sister and best friend to her siblings, Stacy and Jon. With her home roots in the heart of Orem, she attended school at Sharon and Orem Elementary, Lakeridge Junior High, and Mountain View High School where she was a JV and Varsity cheerleader. Lorie was an honors student, graduating as a proud Bruin with the Class of 1985.

Her passion for hair sprouted in the fall of 1987 while attending the Bon Losee Academy of Hair Artistry. After graduating in 1988, her career as a beautician blossomed when she began working at the Scott Hancock Studio/Salon in Provo. After the birth of her son, Dylan, in 1991, she opened a salon in her home.

Lorie married Joe Pearson on February 20th, 1993. Two years later, they welcomed their son, Statler. Lorie loved her two sons dearly.

Lorie was a lover of people. It didn't matter what your background was, where you came from, what you had or didn't have...Lorie was always willing to help anyone in need. Even if she had helped you a million times before, she was right there at the front of it all. She always had your back.

She wasn't afraid to take on any project, being the fixer of anything that broke in her home. Her parents taught her that no task or repair was too tough to tackle. If she thought she could fix it, she would. She understood the value of hard work and didn't hesitate to get the job done.

Lorie loved her clients and the time she spent making them look beautiful. There was a sign in her salon that read: I'm a beautician, not a magician. But beyond her talent was the magical ability she had to listen, understand, and encourage. She was not only your hairstylist but your personal therapist as well. Lorie shared this magic with everyone she encountered. Client or not, you were sure to feel better after a visit with her.

Exploring new places excited Lorie. She was a seasoned traveler, visiting many countries with her sisters-in-law and sharing experiences all over the world. In addition to traveling, Lorie held a deep love for attending women's retreats, which she called "Jesus Camp". This is where she went to connect with Jesus and made long-lasting friendships.

Lorie's love for the great outdoors included camping, boating, hunting, and four-wheeling. The mountains were a little slice of heaven; her home away from home. Lake Powell was also one of her favorite places that held precious memories. Furthermore, she enjoyed working in her yard and making it beautiful. She was the hostess with the mostest and oftentimes invited family and friends to her home for barbecues, parties, and other events. You couldn't miss out on her homemade salsa, frosted sugar cookies, and peanut butter bars, those were just a few of many favorites. But if she opted for some fine-dining, a tostada and some fries at Taco Amigo did just the trick.

Lorie will forever be remembered as a spunky, beautiful, kind, and generous woman who showed her love through serving others.

Lorie is survived by her spouse, Joe Pearson; and children, Dylan (Savannah); Statler; and granddaughter, Oakley, who was the pride and joy of her life. Her second father, Gary Nelson "Papa Smurf"; sister, Stacy (Darryn) Lassen; brother Jon (Sandra) Christiansen; sisters-in-law, Paulene Roylance (Tyler Rizzi), Bethene (Randy) Jasper, Suann (Phil) Adams, Edie (Joe) Mosher; and nephew, Hunter, and nieces, Kaylee and Makayla (for whom she was a (second mother); along with many other nieces, nephews, and friends of her children. She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws Byrd & Joyce Pearson.

Services will be held at CenterPoint Church in Orem, Utah, on Saturday, January 18th, 2025. The pre-service will begin at 10:30 am, with the main service to follow at 12:00 pm.
