Lorin Alexander Young passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2024, due to complications from surgery. Lorin was a wonderful, noble and great man.

Lorin was born November 21, 1963 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up in Southern California at the base of the San Bernardino Mountains, where he gained his love of skiing. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Charleston, West Virginia Mission. He met the love of his life, Allynne Powell, at a young adult dance. They were instantly twitterpated and engaged two months later. Lorin and Allynne raised their three children in Ohio and California.

Lorin received his bachelors in marketing at California State University, Fullerton and his Master's of Business Administration from Brigham Young University. He worked in corporate America, was a small business owner, and for the last few years he was a business consultant. He is a published author of business and religious books. He was a hard worker and put his best effort into everything he did.

Lorin was always a fun and loving husband, father, and grandpa. He provided support and guidance to his family. His favorite title was "Papa" to his four grandchildren who he loved spending time with. He always created adventures and memories for those he loved. He was blessed with a brilliant mind and great problem solving skills. His mind was constantly active thinking of ways to help others enjoy life. He loved getting to know people and asked thoughtful questions to get them talking.

Lorin was a man of great faith and devotion. He loved serving the Savior and serving others. He held many callings in the Church, and loved teaching the gospel doctrine class for fifteen years. He loved learning and would get up early to study.

Lorin is survived by his wife Allynne (Powell), his children Breanna Young, Cameron Young, and Kilynne McNamara, his grandchildren Beau, Raelynne, Hudson and Hayden, his mother Edith Dale (Kesler) Young, his siblings Kelly Pickering and Tom Young.

Lorin is greatly missed. We love you Papa!

Funeral Services will be Monday, January 6, 2025 at 12:30 pm in the Orchard Stake Center, 810 East 600 North Orem. Family and friends may visit that morning from 11:00am - 12:00pm at the church. Interment will be in Orem City Cemetery.
