LORRAINE INEZ VIGOREN Lorraine Inez Voyles Vigoren joined God's choir as His special pianist on June 25, 2017. She was born January 20, 1920 in Chehalis, Washington to John and Inez Voyles. When Lorraine was six months old her family moved to Belle Fourche, SD where they lived for two years. In 1922 the family moved to Illinois, the former home of her father. Lorraine moved with her parents from Illinois back to Belle Fourche in October 1932. She graduated Valedictorian from Belle Fourche High School in 1937, then attended Colorado Women's College in Denver, Colorado. On February 16, 1939 she married the love of her life, Max Vigoren, and enjoyed 46 years of marriage, before Max's death in 1985. Lorraine and Max could always be found holding hands, enjoying family, traveling together and being part of the community. They were the happiest delivering Meals on Wheels, participating in Senior Citizens Center activities, dancing at the Moose Lodge and serving and taking care of those in need. Many July 4th celebrations would find their backyard filled with family and friends who enjoyed a fun afternoon with good food, great conversation and always homemade ice cream with Gramma Voyles' famous chocolate cake for dessert. Music was a big part of her life. Lorraine was the organist for the Belle Fourche Methodist Church for more than 50 years. During this time she was involved in numerous church and community activities while sharing her musical talent by teaching piano and organ to students of all ages. Lorraine was a member of Eastern Star for 50 years, the Belle Fourche Methodist Church, and the Girl Scouts of America where she served as a co-leader for 10 years. Her musical talent was shared with Job's Daughters and countless weddings, funerals and celebrations of life. In 2009 Lorraine moved into Hickory House assisted care facility in Spearfish, SD. Then, while visiting Ron and family in May 2013 in Utah, she decided to stay and make her home at Bel Aire Assisted Living. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Max and her parents, John and Inez Voyles. Grateful for her life are her three children; Maxine (Jerry) Nyman, Crane, Oregon; Ron (Liz) Vigoren, Provo, Utah; and Rex (Joanne) Vigoren of Spearfish, SD, 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the Bel Aire Assisted Living staff (especially the "A Team") Orem, Utah and Brighton Hospice who have affectionately cared for Lorraine. Services for Lorraine will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah. A Viewing will be held from 1 P.M. - 1:45 P.M. prior to the service. Graveside services and Interment will be at 2 P.M. July 8, 2017, at Pine Slope Cemetery, Belle Fourche, SD.
